A bogie hearth furnace is a special type of industrial furnace characterized by its particularly user-friendly loading using a bogie hearth. The bogie hearth allows workpieces to be loaded into the furnace at ground level – usually on rails that lead directly into the combustion chamber. This design offers significant advantages when handling large, heavy, or delicate components, as manual handling is avoided. At the same time, the defined positioning on the bogie hearth ensures particularly even heat distribution during the thermal process.
Versatile designs for different temperature ranges
The shuttle hearth furnace shown on the right is also designed as a lift-door furnace and a forced-air furnace. This design allows for precise temperature control and efficient heat distribution throughout the entire work space. With an operating temperature of up to 650 °C, this industrial furnace is ideal for thermal processes that require constant temperatures – such as heat treatment, drying, or stress relief of metallic materials.
In addition to this design, other variants are also available: For example, shuttle kilns with hinged doors that operate in temperature ranges from 150 °C to 400 °C. These are often used for specific processes in the plastics, ceramics, or glass industries.
